Date of Passing: Oct 16, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE DAVEY (nee SEMENIUK) August 18, 1923 October 16, 2016 She will be forever remembered and dearly missed by her daughter Janice Oruck (Gary); grandchildren, Paul and Kira; son Gregg Davey (Bunny); grandchildren, Garrett, Keith, Ashley and Jalin. Anne is also survived by nieces, Joanne Baccus, Barbara Sokolowski, Donna Scharikow and nephews, Richard and Brian Sokolowski and her dear and lifelong friend, Pauline Quigley. Anne was born and raised in Winnipeg. She worked throughout her adult life in the insurance industry and retired from Reed Stenhouse Insurance in 1987. Retirement meant travel and travel she did. Mom and Dad made many trips to Florida, Palm Springs, Hawaii and Mexico in their lifetime but the highlight of their travels was Holland, where they took part in the 50 year anniversary celebration of Holland's liberation. She came back with glowing stories of the lovely people, lovely food and lovely culture. One of Mom's loves was the family cottage. She devoted over 50 years to making a cottage a home and that was one of her greatest and most enduring legacies. We thank her for all she was and all she did and will keep her memory close forever. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are invited to make donations in Anne's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044

Janice and Gregg, I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom. Will remember so many things about this petite lady, like my surprise bridal shower at her home on Bronx. As one of Janice's friends she always welcomed me into her home like another daughter. I will forever remember the twinkle in her eyes. Adrian and I send our deepest sympathies to you and your families. -Donna - Posted by: Donna Strutinsky (Friend) on: Oct 22, 2016
