DAVID WARKENTIN Born November 1, 1930, David Warkentin passed away peacefully on October 21, 2016. We are sad and will miss him, but are confident in his reunion in heaven with his dear wife Lorraine. Dave was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine; parents, Abram and Helene Warkentin and Lorraine's parents, John and Helen Hildebrand; his siblings, John, Frank, Helen, and brother-in-law Jacob. Dave's clan includes his children and grandchildren, Thomas (Teresa), Caitlin (Chris), Luke ; Sally (Chris), Chelsea, Travis; Sandra (Scott), Chloe, Lexine, Dylan; Jennifer (Lyndon), Owen, Aliyah, Theo; Jeffrey (Heather), Logan, Pearce, Ava; his siblings Mary (Henry), John (Agnes), Helen (Jacob), Margaret (Ben), Abe (Edith), Peter (Helen), Jack (Marilyn), Anne (Jake), Hilda, Frank (Lynda), Lorraine's siblings Hank (Lynda), Herman (Sue), Janice (Abe), Judy (John), Audrey (Jim), Peter (Hermina), as well as many nieces, and nephews. Dave grew up on the family farm west of Glenlea and attended the local school and church. He farmed successfully with his brother Frank until his retirement in 2000; their personalities and talents complemented each other. Dave loved spending time with his family and participating in various sports. Dave modelled Christian love and service in his care for Lorraine. A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at Pembina Place for their wonderful care, with special thanks to Anne Thiessen who often helped Dave with his meals. A celebration of Dave's life will be held at Glenlea Mennonite Church, Glenlea, Manitoba on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. with viewing at 1:00 p.m. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
