WAYNE JOHNSON It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Wayne Johnson on October 20, 2016 at the age of 55. Wayne leaves behind to mourn his sister Janice Haywood (John) and his niece Miranda Haywood (David). He was predeceased by his parents, Harvey and Rosalind Johnson. Wayne grew up on the family farm in Dugald and farming was his passion. Even after he retired from farming because of health reasons, he still loved to go for long drives through the country side and check out the crops. He was the type of person that everyone liked and he loved to socialize with his friends in his shop. Wayne was also a big fan of the Bombers and the Jets, as well as NASCAR. A come-and-go memorial reception to celebrate Wayne's life will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. The family would also like to give thanks to the special people at Kin Place in Oakbank for their care and friendship to Wayne and to Joy and granddaughter Esme for visiting every week. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com

I am indeed sorry to hear of the passing of Wayne. My condolences and sympathy to his family. I knew Wayne for many years and used to drop in and chat with him. We always had a beer together. He was a very kind and soft spoken man and would not hesitate to help a neighbour or friend solve a problem....whether you were stuck in the ditch or needed a hand lifting a wall during construction. I think Wayne tried to have a happy life and at the time myself and my wife Kathie were glad that he met and married Barb. As we all know this did not work out for him and he was again by himself. I then lost touch with Wayne and only occasionally dropped by only to hear he was in Kin Place. How time and life zooms by. The day I dropped by he was not available and I regret not trying again. May you know that he is now at peace and will be fondly remembered for his kindnesses to others. - Posted by: John Kaye (Friend) on: Oct 29, 2016
