RONALD ADEY It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Adey on November 3, 2016. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 39 years, Marilyn; his mother Norma; his sister Leslie (Norm); nephews, Christopher and Patrick; great-niece Jaden; father-in-law Ernie; brother-in-law Ernie (Elizabeth); niece Lindsey and nephew Gregory. Ron was predeceased by his father, William (Ron), brother Christopher and mother-in-law Gwen. Ron was born on August 13, 1944 in Digby, Nova Scotia, moving to Winnipeg not soon after. He worked at Centra Gas for 34 years before retiring due to health reasons. Ron will always be remembered for his great smile and his expressive blue eyes. When Ron got a twinkle in his eye you knew he was thinking of something mischievous to say or do. He was a kind, gentle man with a great sense of humour. Ron was always full of one liners and was able to pull one out of the air just at the right time. His positive outlook allowed him to enjoy his life even though it was sometimes difficult. No challenge was too big for Ron. Before his illness, Ron was an avid curler and bird hunter and when he was no longer able to go hunting, truly missed getting up at 3:00 a.m. For Ron it was the time spent with friends and the freedom of the outdoors that made him happy. With his love of nature came the interest in Ducks Unlimited where he participated as a volunteer for 35 plus years making many friends along the way. Ron had many interests and hobbies. He belonged to the Winnipeg Pin Club and the Great White North Brewerianists Manitoba Chapter, collecting a variety of pins and beer memorabilia. He enjoyed sports and was an avid supporter of the Winnipeg Goldeyes, Jets, Bombers and Manitoba Moose. Ron will be missed by everyone who knew him. The family would like to thank all our friends for their support throughout the years especially during this difficult time. Thanks to Dr. Christopher Fotti and the Doctors and Staff at the Cardiac Care Units at the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and support. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
