ROGER MURON It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Roger Muron on November 6, 2016 at the age of 74 at Selkirk General Hospital with family by his side. Roger will be deeply missed by his wife of 54 years Darlene, son Tim (Linda), daughters Lori and Michelle (Marty), grandsons Brett, Cameron, Tyler, Cody, Owen, girlfriends Courtney, Veronica, Hailey, brother-in-law George (Lorraine) and nephews Jason and Kevin. He was predeceased by his parents Jean and Blanche and brother Walter Muron, mother-in-law Kathaleen, brother-in-law's Gordon and Raymond Struck and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dad was a hard worker all his life and took pride in everything he did. He was always giving to others and was a dedicated employee and volunteer. He worked for Universal Printer's for 42 years. For the past 10 years, he had the opportunity to work with his son Tim at Wescan. He spent endless hours coaching and refereeing hockey, ringette, and baseball. He also dedicated much time and energy volunteering at Robertson Playground, Sinclair Park Community Club, as a director on the Manitoba Ringette Association Board, and Matlock Recreation Club. Dad would help anyone in need - strangers, friends, and family. Dad was so proud of all his grandson's and you could see him beam when he shared stories of their accomplishments. He tried to attend as many hockey, baseball, soccer, and curling games to cheer them on. When the boys were younger much of their summers were spent with dad and mom having sleepovers, camping, and traveling. He was always joking and teasing the boys. He taught the boys the importance of hard work and respect. The past ten years' dad and mom have enjoyed vacationing in Mexico. There they met many new and great friends. We would like to thank Dr. Homik at Winnipeg Clinic, Dr. Dawa, Dr. Bachur, and Dr. Kristjanson at Cancer Care, and Dr. Kevin Saunders for their excellent care. A special thank you to the nurses at Selkirk Hospital for their compassion and kindness. As per Rogers request there will be no service. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Humane Society, Cancer Care Manitoba, or a charity of your choice. www.voyagefuneralhome.com

Mr.& Mrs. Muron as well as Tim and Lori coached me for many of my younger years in ringette and softball through Sinclair Park CC. A time in my life that I reflect on often with my children who are now 12 (Landon) and 11 yrs old (Rachel). Mr. Muron taught me the value of respect in sport and the importance of respect in self. It wasn't until I reached adulthood and had children in sports that it occured to me how lucky and fortunate I was to have had this family in my life during this time. I am sorry for your loss-you are all in my thoughts during this difficult time. - Posted by: Lisa Newman-McLoughlin (Coach) on: Nov 12, 2016
