JERRY ROGER WERESTIUK SR. May 11, 1946 - November 12, 2016 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father Jerry Roger Werestiuk Sr. on November 12, 2016. He was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Helen, and leaves to mourn wife Karen, children Tricia (Collin) and Jerry (Joanne), as well as stepson Kirk. He also leaves his brothers and sisters Adelle, Emil (Wanda), Shirley (Jerry), Judy (Terry), Rose (Tony) and Ron, as well as his grandchildren Eric, Faith, Aaron, Dylan and Owen, and many nieces and nephews. Jerry began his career as an arborist in 1972 starting Jerry's Tree Service, and a few short years later renamed the company Kildonan Tree Service Ltd. Well known throughout the city of Winnipeg and surrounding areas as an expert in the care and maintenance of trees, Jerry spent much of his life working to preserve the natural beauty of our city. In 1992, he had the opportunity to purchase property adjacent to Bird's Hill Park, and spent the remainder of his life caring for the wildlife in the area. The family wishes to thank the staff of CancerCare Manitoba, Concordia Hospital, Via Natural Medicine, and home care for all their efforts and support. Your efforts above and beyond to help grant Dad his final wish are appreciated beyond what words can express. Services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street in Winnipeg. Private family interment to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to World Wildlife Federation, Ducks Unlimited, or Ronald McDonald House. Dad, you will be so dearly missed by those who knew you and will live forever in our hearts and minds. You were an inspiration to those whose lives you touched, and leave behind a legacy of love and compassion. We will love you always. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044
