GLORIA GLADYS DESJARLAIS (nee MAJEWSKI) 1931-2016 Our Mom passed at home after a two and one half year battle with ovarian cancer. On November 7 she suffered a stroke. After a brief hospital stay, we managed to take Mom home on November 9 as were her wishes. Over the next six days, Mom's home became a celebration of her life. There was a continual parade of neighbors, friends old and new and all of her family. There was music, singing, and dancing that Mom managed to partake in. There was an aura of pure love and joy that filled her home. On Thursday, November 15 Mom drew her last breath with her family holding her. Gloria is survived by her children Jim (Marianne), Elaine Pagura, Matt (Betty), Brenda Hrycyk (Ken) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Gloria was predeceased by her husband William; her son Denis; and her son-in-law Frank Pagura. A private family interment will take place on Friday, November 18, 2016. A service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Winnipeg Harvest. Mom always loved to feed everyone! Sorry to learn of Gloria's passing. It is always hard when you loose a parent, regardless of how old they are and how old you are. Gloria was always smiling and full of energy and always made you feel welcome in her home. The girls still remember her for dressing up on Halloween and sitting in wait at the garage door and surprising them as her scarecrow came to life.
