Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFREDERICK MARK REED With sadness the family announces the passing of Frederick on November 11, 2016, after a long period of poor health. Fred is survived by his beloved son Lane; former wife Sherri Helgason; sisters Nancy Harris, Cheryl Reed-Elder and Karen Reed (Todd); brothers Glenn (Sherry) and Darryl (Ananya); nephews Christopher, Colin, Riley and Liam, long-time friends Brian, Dale and Mike along with his Legion family, Mike, Hugh, George, Robert and Bale. He was predeceased by his mother Marion (Sis) and father Arthur (Arch). Fred was born in Halifax on May 21, 1961. He grew up in a Navy family that moved around the country. He lived in New Brunswick, Northwest Territories, British Columbia, Ontario and Nova Scotia; where he attended high school and started his career in the Merchant Marine. Fred was a Ship's Captain for several years and later worked in the software industry. He loved to spend time with people and have fun. He will be remembered for his unfailing optimism, good humour and courage in the face of many challenges. We will especially remember his love for his son Lane, who has his father's best qualities. www.voyagefuneralhome.com
