He spent his very early childhood in the Point Douglas area before moving with his family to a farm some 50 km north of the city. In 1942 his family moved back to Winnipeg where his father had purchased and renovated a building on Selkirk Avenue, that housed the family in behind a popular Snack Shop. Myron attended and graduated from Isaac Newton High School and was eager to continue his studies at the University of Manitoba. He went on to earn a BSc., BEd. During this stage of his life Myron also became very active in the Knights of Columbus. He was one of the founding members that received their First Degree as members of St. Josephat Council in 1958. Holding numerous positions on the council and beyond he received a Fourth Degree status. He taught at Glenlawn Collegiate in St. Vital (1961 to 1980) and later at Victor Wyatt School (1981 to1992). Myron having known Olia from the community, high school as well as university, they both finally acknowledged destiny and married in 1963. They were blessed with their two sons, Borys in 1967 and Yury in 1969. During this time he was also active in the St. Vital Teachers Association and the Manitoba Teachers Society. Myron also had a sense of duty to help fulfill one of Victor Wyatt's legacy projects (with whom he had a profound connection) in seeing the creation of the Vic Wyatt House. He was a respected and devoted educator, who had a profound influence on many students. Growing up in the North End, Myron became unequivocally connected to the community. His service to Sts.
