BRIAN TODD IVANISKI It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our son, brother, father, uncle, cousin and friend, Brian Todd Ivaniski, aged 48 on December 18, 2016. Brian will be missed beyond measure by his one and only son, Nicholas; Nicholas' mother Gaylene; mother Ruth; brother Wayne; niece Vanessa; nephew Dan; great nieces, Calla, Adley and Anniston as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Brian was predeceased by his father, Nicholas Ivaniski in July 2016. Brian was born on August 4, 1968 to his loving parents Nick and Ruth Ivaniski in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was welcomed home by his older brother Wayne who was thrilled to have a little buddy to enjoy life with. As a child he loved to fish with his dad and his brother, explore the outdoors at the family farm in Gypsumville, swim, play soccer as well as hockey, even playing on the same team as his brother at times. He attended school at Stevenson Brittania and then went onto high school at Sturgeon Creek. At the age of 16 he began to work for Western Profile, where he worked for over 18 years. It was his greatest joy though, in February of 2004, when Brian became a father to his son Nicholas, whom he loved so much. Brian spent endless amounts of time fixing small engines, woodworking, attending car racing and finding little adventures to take part in with Nicholas. Nicholas will treasure these times with his dad forever. Brian later worked for MacDon and then most recently worked for Perimeter Aviation, where he had worked for over 10 years and had many cherished friends. Brian's presence will be missed by all and his memories cherished. Memorial Service 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg. • Sorry to hear this news and Condolences to Ruth, Wayne and Family. Spent some formative years in St. James as a young kid with Brian, and have thought of those times often through the years. Between Hockey, School, and families getting together it was a fun time. Lots of adventures with Brian, Kendall and I. I remember a grade 5 or 6 'sock hop' where boys sat at one end of gym and girls at the other for almost an hour while music played. Brian put on a halloween mask and got the guts to walk across the whole gym to ask someone to dance, seems he was like this throughout life! Will Miss him - Posted by: Stefan Dei Cont (Friend) on: Dec 30, 2016

  • Saddened to hear of Brain's passing. Brian had a big heart and and a lot of wind...he could really chat it up! We shared many stories and chuckles over the years at our favourite meeting spot. In a small way this kept our families connected. RIP Brian. - Posted by: Jade Ewasiuk (Friend) on: Dec 29, 2016

  • My deepest condolences to the family. I knew Brian in my youth years from school and being a teammate of his in hockey. Brian was a great person! - Posted by: James silva (Friend) on: Dec 28, 2016

  • I worked at Western Profiles for 2 years in the mid-90's, and Brian and I generally did not work on the same shift. But I remember him well and I had great respect for knowledge and skills, and his personality. He was just a real good guy and I didn't forget. Very sad news. R.I.P.Brian. - Posted by: Matthew Stevenson (Ex-coworker) on: Dec 25, 2016
