I was sad to hear about the passing of Kris. I had known him since kindergarten back at Ralph Brown in North Winnipeg. Along with others, we all had a fun friendship growing up. On the way, I got him into guitar lessons, and we used to jam together. We even put on a mini-duet for our class, playing CCR’s Bad Moon Rising. It is tough when we get older and move away. We lose contact with people who helped develop who we are. Kris was a fine person, and it was my honour to have known him. - Posted by: Rob Rickey (Childhood Friend) on: Mar 07, 2018

My sister and I were deeply saddened to hear of our favorite cousin Chris 's sudden passing. As children and through our teen years we spent time at each othe'rs home.We have fond memories.Rescuing my hat from a bully, playing board games, mushroom picking, him passing out christmas presents. He always made us feel great about ourselves and boy did we ever laugh. When visiting him in Calgary he showed us his city, and took us out for dinner, even the mall and sitting there till we shopped. When our dad passed away he was with us,and was a pall bearer for him. Then for our mom.The times he came to Winnipeg he always came to visit us, and catch up in each other lives. He would email or phone us.He was a good guy.He accepted you for who you were faults and all.Status and wealth was not vital. Who you were and how you treated people was.We loved you. Margaret and Irene Strykowski - Posted by: Margaret and Irene Strykowski (cousin) on: Jan 17, 2017

Chris and I met in house 405 12ave as a bunch of us including Lee me Andy Troy Greg and others. This is where we all had each others back all of us were blacksheeps of different families. Especially Chris was Misty's best friend and uncle to Misty all through the years kept him in contact. It was some time because Chris was so into pipelines, would talk about rigs together but I have a picture of my last day on the street. I was in Bridgeland when I heard a honk, my brother Chris told me he was looking for me told me to get me into the car and say goodbye to friends he wanted to go to auction to buy a van I got him the best Chevy van then he said lets go get a place. I still got the picture of me my last days of picking and our first place, also taught him some basic bondo I guess I have to call off a p b for Chris I still call his number I will never for get you, its odd Chris and my real mom and dad passed away same date I luv you all. Very shocked to hear Chris's passing. I have known him since I was a little girl. He was so funny and generous. If there is anyone in the family can email me I would appreciate it , I would like more information to also pass on to his friends-family in Calgary AB. We all loved him like that funny uncle. My condolences. victrisha3@gmail.com - Posted by: Patricia (Friend of the family for 25+ yeara) on: Jan 11, 2017

We are all sad to have heard of Chris's passing. His friends in Calgary have been trying to get a hold of him to no avail. I personally loved Chris he was a wonderful person. He talked and listened to me when I was having problems. And he was always so generous with his time and other things. He would always make time to come see me and my daughter when he was in Calgary. His close friend Alan Ziegler is really taking it hard and I know that he wishes condolences to his family. God bless you all in this time of sorrow. - Posted by: Catherine (Sypher) Mathison (Friend in Calgary Alberta) on: Jan 11, 2017
