WALTER EUGENE PALANYCIA January 6, 1939 - January 8, 2017 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Walter Palanycia on January 8, 2017, at the Victoria Hospital, at the age of 78. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Patricia of 53 years, son David and daughter Joanne. Walter was predeceased by his parents Zosim and Katherine Palanycia, and he was an only child. Walter was a devoted husband and father, with family being his first priority. He worked with the Province of Manitoba for 40 plus years in Municipal Planning (MPB) and with the Department of Justice. Throughout his career, he worked on numerous community development projects. His hobbies included fine woodworking, carpentry, landscaping and photography. He especially enjoyed going to the cottage which he built with his own hands. He was honoured to serve as aide-de-camp to Lieutenant Governor Peter Liba. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. VICHNAYA PAM'YAT CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044

  • We knew Walter and his family for about 26 years. He was a very friendly and professional man. He could talk your ear off forever and always had good stories to tell; we loved our conversations. He and Dave worked together through many projects we have been able to enjoy. He will be very missed. - Posted by: Eric and Debbie Astrope (Friends) on: Jan 18, 2017
