LEONHARD LAGE (HARDY) October 28, 1928 - January 14, 2017 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Leonhard Lage on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at the age of 88 years. Dad was born on October 28, 1928 to Johan and Margurite Lage (nee Klassen) in Einlage, Ukraine. He immigrated to Canada on October 25, 1949 and began a new life in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Dad met and married his loving and beautiful wife Hilda Redekop in 1952 and together they started a family that became their greatest treasure in life. After engaging in various types of work, he co-founded Lage Brothers Pianos in 1959, and together with his brothers John and Rudy, brought the joy of music into the homes of many for 30 years. He leaves to mourn his beloved children: Charles (Karen), Heidi, and Leonard (Mea), grandchildren: Lynnsie, Levi, Stephan, Matthew, Allison, and Lorilei, and great-granddaughters Araeya and Ivee; brother Rudy, sisters-in-law Louise and Beate, his dear friend Edith, and many relatives and friends. Dad was predeceased by the love of his life Hilda in 2007, brothers: John and Heinz, and sister-in-law Elfriede. A memorial service to celebrate Dad's life will be held Friday, January 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Leonard may be made to the charity of one's choice. The wholeness of our parents' blessed union is once again complete.
