MARGARET ISOBEL GREEN MORRAN January 15, 1914 - January 30, 2017 Margaret passed away peacefully in her sleep at Victoria General Hospital. She was born to George and Clara (Whiting) Green in Wawanesa, raised in Grandview, married Laurence Virtue Morran in September 1936, and moved to Winnipeg where she lived a very active life to the age of 103. Margaret was predeceased by her parents; her husband Laurance (England 1941); brothers Ross (Alice), George (Sarah), Dick (Norma) and Gerry; sisters Marian (Ken) Jasper, Dorothy (Herb) Johnson and Betty (Angus) McIver. She is survived by her children David (Jimmi) Morran, Betty Elliott, and Jean (Bryon) Hicks; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Lois Green; three generations of nieces and nephews, and many friends. Margaret was an active member of the United Church all her life, a Life Member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a longtime Goldeyes fan. Sharing outdoor activities with three generations of grandchildren and nieces and nephews was one of her greatest joys. On her instructions, there will be no service and this announcement was to be brief. Her ashes will be interred in the family plot at Grandview. The family would like to thank the staff of the 5th floor Victoria General Hospital for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • The Morran & Green Families: The Morran & Green Families are both legendary in the Grandview community and were both life long friends of our family. I don't believe I ever met Margaret, but I worked with her father at the Grandview Co-op Store in the 1950's when I was in High School. My father worked with Ross Green, also at the Co-op. My sister Jean was blessed to have Marian Green as her first teacher at Morranvlle country school and later went to High School in Grandview with Gerry Green. What a legacy left by Margaret while she was under some difficult circumstances in her 103 years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as we send our condolences.
