JAMES (JIM) ALAN BELL September 2, 1952 January 31, 2017 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jim Bell, on January 31, 2017, at the age of 64 years. Jim was predeceased by his father John in 1975 and his mother Bernice in 2010. He is survived by his sister Barbara Nicolson, brother-in-law Grant Nicolson and several cousins. He will be especially missed by his Winnipeg cousins, Susan Hagemeister (Ross), Ian Coley (Jackie) and Cheryl Buczynski, and their children. Jim lived in St. Vital all his life and attended Varennes School and Glenlawn Collegiate. He was employed at Coca Cola for most of his working years, until ill health forced him to retire in 2014. Jim was a very intelligent and gentle guy. He had a passion for NFL football, cars and music, as well as being very well informed on a wide range of topics. It was always fun and interesting to be around him. He will be missed very much. Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering and interment of ashes will be at a later date. Jim was born at St. Boniface Hospital and received excellent care there from the coronary unit and pacemaker and heart failure clinics. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, C11026-409 Tache Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R2H 2A6. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Dear Barb I am sorry to hear of Jim's passing. My friend called when she read it in the newspaper. Many years have passed since seeing him but I remember him as a quiet, gentle man. My condolences to you. Joanne Devries (Thiessen) - Posted by: Joanne Devries (Friend ) on: Feb 06, 2017

  • I am proud to have been good friends with Jim for most of my life. We went to the same schools and shared a a lot of memories - delivering Free Press newspapers, concerts, hanging out, arguing about cars. He was just a great guy and awesome friend [not to mention his terrific sense of humour], as all of his buddies - Scotty, Ken, Steve etal - will attest. Although Jim and I did not see each other much in the later years, I thought of him and our friendship often. See ya later, Jimmy. - Posted by: Shawn Kennedy (Friend) on: Feb 05, 2017
