Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA FERNANDA DASILVA CORREIA December 27, 1931 February 18, 2017 Peacefully with her family by her side, Fernanda Correia passed away at the age of 85 on February 18, 2017, at Seven Oaks Hospital. Fernanda was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Joao Correia; her parents, Maria de Lourdes and Fernando DaSilva; her brother, Carlos DaSilva; sister and brothers-in-law Gabriela (Alvaro), Oliveira and Luisa (Amadeu) Reis. She is survived by her loving children, Joao (Maria), Irene (Peter), Tina (Brock), Peter (Fatima), Virginia (Luis), Emanuel (Ema), Grace (Brandon and Selena), Emmanuel (Anna); 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; sisters Margarida (Manuel) Torres, Alda (Valentin) Pestana, Lilliana Matias; numerous nieces and nephews from the United States; brother and sisters-in-law Leonel (Conceicao) Correia; Pedro (Maria Jose) Correia; numerous nieces and nephews in Winnipeg. Fernanda was born in Sao Miguel, Açores, on December 27, 1931 and married her husband, Joao in 1950. Fernanda and Joao migrated to Canada in 1970 with their children and lived in Whitemouth, MB for a few years, having later moved to Winnipeg to raise their family and built a solid life together. She loved camping in Selkirk for many years with her children and grandchildren always around. She loved being at the beach, even on the hottest day, and always had a smile on her face as she watched those she loved. When she lost her husband in 1995, she lived with her daughter Grace and her children, Brandon and Selena, whom she helped raise. She had so much love for those two kids and shared so many great memories that they will cherish forever. The family would like to thank the Seven Oaks staff, as well as her family and close friends for everything during this difficult time. Prayers will be said on Thursday, February 23, at 8:00 p.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 181 Austin St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 24, at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044
