HELENE PETERS (nee JANZEN) Peacefully, surrounded by family at Donwood Manor, Mama went home to her eternal rest on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the age of 91 years after a gallantly fought battle with dementia. She is survived by her only daughter Helen; her husband John Guenther and their children, Joshua and Bethany. She also leaves to mourn her brother Victor Janzen and his wife Helen; her brother Wilhelm Janzen; her sister Elizabeth Janzen; her brother-in-law Hans Rempel, her brother in-law David Funk; her sister-in-law Katie Braun, as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Franz Peters, her parents David and Helene Janzen, her step-father David Harms, one sister in infancy, as well as her in-laws, one brother-in-law Henry Braun and two sisters-in-law, Maria Rempel and Helen Funk. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Springfield Heights Mennonite Church on Sharron Bay, with viewing prior to the service. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens on Main Street. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) or Donwood Manor (Pastoral Care Services).
