ROBERT (BOB) FOSTY September, 1950 - February, 2017 It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of their beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Bob Fosty at the age of 66 in Kelowna, BC. He was born in Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his parents Anne and Dan Fosty, and brother Richard. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Cindy, his daughter Colleen (Mark), son Joey (Keri), and grandchildren Alec, Matthew and Justin. He is also survived by his siblings Gloria (Rene), Mildred (Wilf), Steven (Lynn), and sister in-law Dianna Fosty. Bob grew up in the Beausejour area. An avid entrepreneur at heart, he owned and operated Larry's Chip Stand, an arcade and printshop. Bob and Cindy moved to British Columbia in 1991 and made frequent visits back to Beausejour to visit family. Many thanks to the staff at the Kelowna Hospice for their care and compassion as Bob's 10-year struggle with cancer came to an end. A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held on Sunday, March 12 at 1:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour. My condolences to Cindy and Colleen and the rest of the family. Bob took a big bite out of life, taught me how to enjoy a rum and if you were fortunate enough to be called his friend, you always had someone in your corner. He was a nighthawk at heart who would work hard late into the night and after enjoy himself into the wee hours of the morning. After he moved to BC we would visit only on his trips back to Beausejour but what struck me was his "doing it his way" attitude with his battle against his illness, throwing out conventional diagnosis and earning himself another decade of time with family and friends. I will raise a glass and toast the many moments we shared from Hawaii to Moscavitz & Moscavitz! Cheers - Posted by: Rick Stefansson (Friend) on: Mar 12, 2017

First, I love you Cindy. I will always treasure the memory of how you and Bob looked after my mom. She relished in Bob's teasing and speaking Russian with him. The meals you two cooked weren't meals, they were buffets with all the trimmings. No such thing as a snack. I miss Bob already and I promise I will come see you soon. the biggest of hugs, my girl. - Posted by: Gail (cousin) on: Mar 10, 2017

We met Bob a couple of years ago when we were invited to his and Cindy's beautiful home in Peachland for supper with Don and Sue (Cindy's sister), longtime friends. Bob was an excellent host (and rib cook). He and Cindy made us welcome and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Another time Bob and Cindy visited us at Salmon Arm, with Sue and Don. They got lost - that was Don's fault. Our sincere condolences to the family. - Posted by: Kirk and Carol Kettles (Friend) on: Mar 08, 2017
