ROBERT JOHN SELK
Born: May 05, 1954
Date of Passing: Apr 04, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT JOHN SELK May 5, 1954 - April 4, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert at Seven Oaks General Hospital, after a long battle with COPD, with family by his side. He was predeceased by his mother Hendrika and father Louis. Left to mourn his memory is his wife Nancy; mother-in-law Yvonne; father-in-law Morris; sons Chad (Crystal) and Tim (Kathy); stepchildren Sean and Michelle (Glenn); grandchildren Jasmine (Vlad); Holley; Tatianna; Hayden; Abigail; and Ella; great-grandson Mykhaylo; sisters Toni (George) and Louise; brother-in-law Rob (Donna), along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Robert worked in various fields until he found his true passion and professional talent in woodwork. He especially loved building cabinets, furniture, and play houses for his family. Rob always looked forward to time spent with family and friends. He had a great love for the outdoors; growing roses, and taking care of his yard. On any summer day he could be found sitting in his garage, talking with neighbours, loved ones and listening to oldies music. Rob loved golfing, and enjoyed watching all sports, especially his favourite teams the Jets and Blue Bombers. Rob was a strong, kind and friendly man who loved to make us laugh. He will always be cherished in our hearts and memories. If love alone could have saved him, he would have lived forever. As per Rob's wishes cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life and burial will be held at a later date. "Until we meet again." www.voyagefuneralhome.com

It was a sad day for everyone. Rob and I were neighbors for many years. I was one of those who Sat with him in his garage talking about nothing. Rob was always willing to help me with my crazy wood projects . The summers were made for Rob and me and I will miss him greatly this year. We are very sad to learn of Robert's passing. We lived a few houses apart when growing up and Robert and his friend Alex and myself and my friend Ellen used to sort of hang out when Ellen and I were 13 years old. Just walking around the neighborhood and kid's stuff but Robert was a very nice fellow. My husband, Allister lived across the street from Robert while growing up and they were childhood friends also. Robert is remembered by us as a very nice person who was fun-loving and someone who loved to laugh. Our deepest condolences go out to Robert's family and friends. - Posted by: Janice Davidson (nee Chudy) and Allister Davidson (School friends ) on: Apr 08, 2017
