SUSANNA HARDER Susanna Harder was born in Neuenburg, Ukraine on April 19, 1925. Due to the Second World War her family left their home and arrived in Germany in October of 1943. Her father was drafted in the German army and died in Russia in 1947 as a prisoner of war. In 1948 Susanna together with her mother and brother Peter, emigrated from Germany to Paraguay. In 1954 they were able to immigrate to Canada. Life in Canada provided many opportunities for Susanna. She was able to purchase a home together with her brother Peter and live a comfortable life. She was a faithful member of the North Kildonan Mennonite Church where she experienced a caring community. In December 2014, Susanna moved to her final earthly home at the Bethania Personal Care Home. She died peacefully on April 10, 2017 with family by her side. Susanna was predeceased by her father Peter in 1947, mother Susanna in 1969 and two brothers, one in infancy and Peter in 2004. She is survived by her cousins who loved and cared for her. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Bethania who loved Susanna and provided a warm and caring environment for her. Funeral service for Susanna Harder will be held at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street on Tuesday April 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery.
