ZINOVY TOLCHINSKY
Date of Passing: Apr 15, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryZINOVY TOLCHINSKY With tremendous sorrow we announce the death of our beloved husband and father Zinovy Tolchinsky. He fought courageously until his last breath, but lost his battle with lung cancer on Saturday, April 15 at the age of 68 at the Health Sciences Centre. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 40 years Larissa Tolchinsky and his son Oleg (Laurel) and beloved grandchildren, Maxim and Sonya Tolchinsky. He is also survived by his brother Mark (Katya) Tolchinsky. We take comfort in the knowledge that he didn't suffer long, that he had his typical sense of humor until his last moments and that he died surrounded by the people he loved most, his wife and son. Zinovy courageously brought his family to Canada from the Soviet Union 27 years ago and sacrificed everything to build a new life here. He was a master of his trade, second to absolutely no one. Zinovy was a quiet, kind soul and valued his family above all else. His love of reading, movies and gadgets knew no bounds and was only surpassed by his love of his family and precious grandchildren. Papa, we will miss you so, so much but will find a way to carry on, just like you would wish. Zinovy wanted a small, private service for his immediate family and we will honour his wishes. Donations in his name can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

I worked along with Zinovy at Crown Cap. He was patient and taught me how to work with fur stretching to make hats. He knew the crafts excellently and will be missed by all who knew him. - Posted by: fred jarmuske (c0-worker friend) on: Jul 08, 2025

Tolchinsky Family - on behalf of the Cisco family who work with our friend Oleg, may I extend our sincerest condolences on your loss. We realize this is a very difficult time, however wish you peaceful thoughts as you reflect on Zinovy's life and the journey you took together. Your family story is an inspiration, but so too Zinovy and Larissa's bravery in taking such a bold step in coming to Canada as a reflection of love and care for Oleg and building a better future together. Truly something of which to be very proud and what a legacy in having Max and Sonya as reminders of the impact Zinovy had for all of you! Our thoughts are with you - Cisco has made a donation in Zinovy's memory to Cancer Care Manitoba. Take good care - wishing you peace.
