Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA KATHERINE MALANCZUK It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Anna Katherine Malanczuk, mother and grandmother, on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at St. Joseph's Residence. Anna was predeceased by her husband, Ostap, and by her son, Robert. Anna was also predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, Karneal, Phillip and Charlie, and her sister, Pauline. She leaves to mourn her daughter, Joanne, son-in-law, Ken, and special granddaughter, Keanna, Anna's sister, Rose, of Edmonton and nieces and nephews across Canada. Anna was born on August 14, 1919 in Windsor, Ontario to John and Agatha Bundun. Mom worked in Yorkton, Fort Qu'Appelle, Eston, and Gimli prior to her arrival in Winnipeg. In 1946, she worked for the C.P.R. She met Dad in 1953 and they were married in 1955. With the births of their children, Robert and Joanne, Mom stayed at home to take care of us. She returned to work at C.N.R. until her retirement. Mom loved cooking, gardening, watching television, dancing with Dad and entertaining family and friends. When Keanna was born, Grandma was even busier and loved every minute that she spent with her. Mom took great pride in being able to stay at home in the community until she was 96 years old, with help from her home care team from the Seven Oaks Office, and Dr. C. Jaeger. In 2016, she moved into St. Joseph's Residence and enjoyed playing bingo, shuffleboard, doing crafts, watching television and attending mass. The family would like to thank Dr. T. Babick and all the staff at St. Joseph's Residence for their compassionate care of Mom, and Dr. C. Jaeger for caring for Mom while in the community. Funeral Service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Thursday, May 18 at 3:00 p.m. Viewing at 2:30 p.m. with Father Julien OSBM of St. Nicholas Parish officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are to be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, the Canadian Cancer - Manitoba Chapter, or to a charity of your choice. Cropo Funeral Chapel, 204-586-8044

My sincere condolences to Joanne and her family. As a young girl I remember Mrs. Malanczuk's Tomato Juice Cake. It was fantastic. - Posted by: Julie Radchuk (Former classmate and School friend of Joanne) on: May 16, 2017
