Born: Oct 11, 1937
Date of Passing: May 30, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMITCH MAKARA It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather, Mitchell John Makara on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the age of 79. Mitch was predeceased by his parents, Valeri and Frank Makara and his sister Hedi Makara. He will be dearly missed by his daughter Sheri (Kevin) Melsted and their daughters, Alexandra and Samantha; his son Gordon (Taylor) and his children, Abi, Asia, and Coen and their mother Sharleen Wright. Mitch was born in Winnipeg on October 11, 1937. He grew up in Hadashville, MB and later moved to Winnipeg. There Mitch worked for the City of Winnipeg, G.W.W.D. until he retired in 1998. During Mitch's retirement he enjoyed many things. One was travelling with his "travel group" to many exciting places. Some places he visited were Poland, England, France, Germany, Ukraine, Ireland, Scotland and Branson, MO, just to name a few. One of his biggest passions was woodworking. Mitch loved to work in his "shop". Who would have known that a certified welder, who worked with steel his entire career, had such an incredible hidden talent working with wood. He enjoyed creating his little gems and giving them away to friends and family. Mitch also enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Mitch loved his grandchildren dearly and was so very proud of them and all their accomplishments! A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow in Hadashville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. We love you dad/grandpa and will miss you always! CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044
