GAIL LORRAINE VERA GENYK (McKNIGHT) With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Gail Genyk, on June 7, 2017, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by her children: Brian (Janice), Wayne (Wendy), Carolyn (Harry), and Brad (Gabi); grandchildren: Dale, Ryan, Alex, Joey, Megan, Renae, and Melissa; brother Robert McKnight (Darlene), lifelong friend and sister in spirit, Marlene McKnight, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Alex, son Barry and parents, Helen (Johnson) and Robert McKnight Sr. Gail met Alex, the love of her life at 14, married at 17, and together they shared 60 years before his passing. In her younger years, Gail provided home care aide for the elderly. She loved animals, devoted her life to raising her family, and looked after many neighbourhood kids. The door was always open to friends and family, and when the house was full she was happy. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, June 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, June 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor Street. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue. We will miss her warmth, humour and never-ending love. Rest in peace with Dad and baby Barry. 204-586-8044
