MARIE ANN LOUISE LEWONCHUK Peacefully with family by her side, Marie passed away on June 20, 2017 at the age of 86 years. Marie was predeceased by parents, Louise and Roger Bartlette, husband Michael Lewonchuk, and siblings, Annette, Judi and John. Marie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by daughters, Michelle Best (Michael) and Joanne Isfeld (Rob); granddaughters, Ailaina and Leah Isfeld; siblings, Bob Bartlette (Betty), Norm Bartlette (Bette), Lenore Eidse (Ralph), Sandra Birdsell, Joan Berard (Laurence), Peter Bartlette (Kathy) and Betty Brandt (Hank), brother-in-law Jim Scott, sister-in-law Lin Bartlette-Wiebe; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Marie was born June 16, 1931, and grew up in Morris, Manitoba, the oldest of 11 children. As an adult, Marie worked at the Film Exchange, Winnipeg Clinic, Sears, and as a companion at Central Park Lodge. She and Michael raised their daughters in Winnipeg's west end where they lived for 25 years. In her later years, Marie lived in her Leila Avenue apartment. She adored her granddaughters, cherished her family and friends, and enjoyed hobbies such as crochet/knitting, crossword and cryptogram puzzles, gardening and nature. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Marie's caregivers for their kindness and compassionate care over many years. Thanks to Drs. Klassen and Kalicinsky, home care nurses, health care aides, social workers, and more recently, the medical and support staff at Seven Oaks Hospital and Middlechurch Personal Care Home. A celebration of Marie's life was held on June 26 at Friends Funeral Service, with the interment at Morris Cemetery.
