FREDA OLGA PRATT
Date of Passing: Jul 16, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFREDA OLGA PRATT Peacefully, on Sunday, July 16, 2017, Mom passed away while watching TV with Dad and chatting about the upcoming weekend with our family at the lake. Mom was 91 years of age. Freda is survived by husband Bill, of 61 years of marriage; daughter Joann (Mike); grandsons, Ted (Janine), Tom (Treshia); and great-grandson Carson. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Anna Stossel; two brothers, Franz and Charles; and sister Anne Sheen. Mom was proud of her Swiss heritage and spent most of her life residing on Scotia Street overlooking the river. Mom worked in Eaton's for two years before she married Dad in 1956. She then became a dedicated homemaker and stay at home mother. She loved working in the yard and took pride in her flower gardens. Mom did a lot of the exterior and interior painting of our home. It took a long time but it was perfect. Mom enjoyed a hobby of collecting old toys and looked forward to going to garage sales to find secret treasures. Dad and Mom enjoyed going on holidays whether it was camping or travels to hot or cold climates. She tried downhill skiing in her late 50s and had fun skiing in Colorado. She loved the outdoors especially snowmobiling. Because Dad is an avid pilot, Mom decided she would try to fly and did pretty good, but in the end was happy to be the first officer. Mom was blessed with two grandsons. She loved them with all her heart. Mom was so proud of them. We would talk about their accomplishments but Mom would always say "You know they always give me a hug and kiss before they leave no matter where we are." She loved that. Mom was so happy that both grandsons found special women to share their life with. This February our family expanded to include her first great-grandson, Carson. Mom was planning on spending more time with him this summer. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at 10:00 a.m. We will miss you and love you always. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044

I bought my first house from Bill and Freda in 1972. It was on 87 Atlantic Avenue. When they moved to Scotia Street, I did not imagine they both would live there the rest of their lives. Both very nice people as I remember. - Posted by: barry fridfinnson (acquaintance) on: Jul 19, 2017
