Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA BERNDL February 19, 1928 - July 25, 2017 In the early morning of July 25, 2017 the skies lit up and welcomed another angel home. Our mother Maria is now at peace and free from pain. Predeceased by her husband Franz, and daughters, Mary and Isabella. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister Magdalena, and her daughters, Erika (Bruce), Maggie (Bob), Lydia (Rob) and Cindy (Dale). She will be deeply missed by grandchildren, Scott, Kristen, Brittany, Bennet and Meagan. Mom was the strongest woman we knew as she endured many things throughout her life, but through it all she never failed to take care of her family. Always in the kitchen, cooking and baking, there was always something for everyone. Thanks to the Home Palliative Care Program and to the special staff on 3E Riverview Health Centre for their compassionate care and support. Rest Peacefully Mom "Never Alone" Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg, MB with Father Peter R. Nemcek officiating. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044

I was fortunate enough to have known Maria Berndl, (Mrs Berndl) to us, as a child growing up on Winnipeg. She was always very kind to us and treated us like family. To Lydia and her family... I am so sorry for your loss. I am friends with Lydia Maria's daughter. I got to know Maria through the years, she was such a nice lady. I enjoyed having conversations with her, she always had great stories from back home...She reminded me a lot of my mom in many ways...She would always tell me how much she loved her girls... I know she's in a better place pain-free with her daughters and her husband.
