MURIEL JOYCE LEWIS
Born: Dec 10, 1923
Date of Passing: Jul 24, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMURIEL JOYCE LEWIS The toughest lady we know, Granny Lewis, passed away peacefully Monday, July 24, 2017. Muriel (Joyce) was born December 10, 1923 in Winnipeg. She met Harold Lewis while out dancing and they soon married. Nancy, their daughter and light of their lives, made their family complete. Granny loved to have fun! She loved music, dancing and socializing of any kind, knitting, movies, dogs, cards, dice and the slot machines, but most of all she loved yelling "BINGO" She and papa loved the cottage that her parents built over 90 years ago. We, as fourth generation lake kids, are forever grateful for this amazing gift. Granny lived all over Winnipeg and most recently at Donwood Manor. The care she received there was unparalleled and she spoke at length about how well they treated her there and how happy she was. Granny will be reunited with her mother Jonena Thorlakson and father Frank Weakley, whom she missed dearly. She will be laughing and bickering with her siblings Gladys, Kay, Mae and Albert. She will get to say hello to old friends and give Dusty big pets. Most importantly she will get to hug her daughter Nancy and have another dance with Harold. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Concordia Hospital or The Winnipeg Humane Society. "Granny, your big smile and big laugh will be missed dearly." www.voyagefuneralhome.com
