EVANGELINE BOLIANAZ (nee PUKALO) August 31, 1935 - July 12, 2017 Evangeline went to Heaven to be with Jesus on July 12, 2017. Beloved mother and grandmother (Nanny) passed away at the age of 81 years. Evangeline was born on August 31, 1935 to Annie (Dmytrow) and William Pukalo. She was the third of four children. They resided in Prawda, Manitoba until April, 1944 when they moved to McGregor Road in Bird's Hill. Evangeline attended Bird's Hill School, where she discovered the school library. She read every book in the library and couldn't wait until new ones would arrive. Thus, began her lifelong quest for knowledge and joy of learning. In 1950, Annie moved her family to Winnipeg. Evangeline left home a year later at the age of sixteen. Evangeline was a devoted mother to her two children, Diana and Rodney. Children were at the center of her heart. She gave all of her love to her children and grandchildren as she worked tirelessly to ensure they were well-fed (with lots of perogies) and that all of their needs were unconditionally met. Evangeline leaves to mourn her daughter, Diana Bolianaz, son, Rodney (Marj), and grandchildren, Stefan Bolianaz (Anh), Haley Bolianaz, Jesse Browne and Kendra Sankar (Andrew). She also leaves to mourn her sister Jeanette Block, brothers, Bill Pukalo (Louise), Syd Pukalo (Marie), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Christ. We would like to thank the many doctors and nurses at CancerCare - St. Boniface Hospital. Especially, Dr. Paul Daeninck and nurse Melanie for their love, compassion and expert care during this last year. Thank you to the nurses on the 6th floor and Dr. Junaid for helping us through Mom's last few days. The funeral will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street.
