PETER WILLIAM DIDUCK
Date of Passing: Jul 26, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER WILLIAM DIDUCK Our dear father and grandfather, Peter William Diduck, passed away on July 26, 2017. Peter will remain in the hearts and memories of his children, Alison and Alan, daughter-in-law Marlene, son-in-law David, and grandchildren, Elliott and Max. Peter is survived by his sisters, Joanne Miller and Theresa Herzberg, his sister-in-law Violet Diduch and their families. Peter was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Violet, his parents, Benedict and Tekla, his brothers, Walter, Paul and Jerry, and his sisters, Antoinette Paraschuk, Olga Restrick and Gena Sankow. Peter was born in Winnipeg in 1930. After working with the Canadian National Railway and Coca Cola Limited, he joined the Seven Oaks School Division, where he worked in the maintenance and transportation departments. He loved his work and especially enjoyed going to schools and engaging with students as a school bus safety educator. After retiring in 1992, Peter was able to devote more time to his passion for carpentry. He spent countless hours in his workshop designing and creating furniture ranging from the intricate and beautiful cradle he built for his grandson Max, to a simple yet elegant futon, to a sophisticated china cabinet. We, his friends and relatives, were usually the beneficiaries of his beautiful work. Peter had a curious mind, was a voracious reader and enjoyed a good conversation about literature. He always had a novel on the go and loved to share his reading of it with others. Peter enjoyed collecting books but also appreciated the public library and chatting with other library patrons. After building their dream house on an acreage in St. Andrews, Peter and Violet were able to pursue their love of gardening and were generous in sharing the fruits of their labour. No one could come to visit them and leave empty handed. Taking home a bag of vegetables or fruit was a must. Peter was a kind man who always saw the best in people. He was generous of heart and spirit, quick to laugh, sensitive and gentle. He delighted in being with people and particularly enjoyed spending time with his many sisters and brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces and friends from Winnipeg and London, England. And people loved being with him. Goodbye, dear dad. In keeping with Peter's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date. A celebration of Peter's life will be held at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba on August 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. If you wish, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or a charity of your choice. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193 www.korbanchapel.com

Dearest Alison and Alan, and families - I extend to you all my deepest condolences. I remember your Dad as a kind and gentle man, whose smile always made me feel comfortable and welcome. I also just recently learned of your Mom's passing.., they will always be remembered as very special people. And though I know they moved from the neighbourhood years ago, many precious memories come to mind, whenever I pass by 43 Peony. Vichnaya Pa'amyat - Memory Eternal. - Posted by: Howard Zeaton (neighbour/friend) on: Aug 05, 2017
