Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARRY MARTIN VAN OSCH November 1, 1928 - September 20, 2017 Harry passed away peacefully, with his family by his side. Those he leaves to cherish his memory are Nellie, his wife of 62 years; children Marinus and Leona, Gerda and Jerry, Martha, William and Darcy, Patrick, Ben and Tracy, Eddie, Martin and Tracey, 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; siblings Ad, Antoon and Willy, Ria and Theo, Rien and Maria; cousin John and family; in-laws Don, Ted and Evie, Freda, Gidge, Kasmer, William and Irma; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and let's not forget his large circle of close friends. He was predeceased by his parents Marinus and Martha, brother Jan, sister Dien, son Tim, and granddaughter Nicole. Harry emigrated from Holland to Canada in 1952 where he met the love of his life, Nellie. Harry and Nellie started a dairy farm near Lorette, Manitoba and farmed successfully for over 35 years until their retirement. It was on that farm they raised their family of seven boys and two girls and dealt with the loss of their dear son Tim. Family was the center of Harry's life and nothing made him happier than big, noisy family gatherings with everyone around. A good political discussion always made those events livelier. In quieter times Harry liked to play cards, work in his garden, tend to his specialty birds or read. He loved to go fishing with the family and enjoyed travel, especially visits to Holland. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Notre Dame Du Lorette Parish Church, 1282 Dawson Road, Lorette, Manitoba. A prayer service will be held at 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass. A special thanks to the staff of Ste. Anne Hospital for all the care and compassion given to our husband / dad. Dad also appreciated all the visits over the past few weeks, in particular seeing and talking with his brothers, sister and their spouses from Holland. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ste. Anne Hospital Fund or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. You'll be dearly missed. Rest in Peace. Love you.
