JOHN DESAUTELS On September 28, 2017, with his daughters at his side, John peacefully passed away. It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather John (grandpa). He was predeceased by his son Johnny in 1949 and his wife Phyllis in 2006; his parents, Denis and Maria; his brothers, Amedee (Georgette), Pierre (Nancy); his sisters, Yvonne (Leo), Celine (Alex) and Aurore (Harvey). John is survived by his two daughters, Marlene (Tony), Robin (Tedd); his grandchildren, Tara (Richard), Matthew (Tammy); his great-grandchildren, Dani-Lee, Brayden, Bryce, Dylan, Hayden and his sister Esther (Al). John worked for Coca-Cola Ltd. for 33 years, then at Winnipeg School Division #1 as a school custodian for another ten years until he retired. In his younger years, John loved to roller skate at the Winnipeg Roller Rink where he mastered dancing on them. John and Phyllis loved bowling and fishing together. After retirement, he picked up golfing and thoroughly enjoyed it. He will be sadly missed by all. But he is now with his true love Phyllis and his son Johnny who he never got to see grow up. Many thanks to his neighbour Tony who visited John almost every day for the past four years and to the staff at HSC GD5 who showed so much compassion and cared for him so lovingly. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Manitoba Lung Association or to a charity of your choice. Memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. Reception and interment to follow. By condolences, Marlene and Robin (and the rest of the family) I only just seen this. Your Dad and Mom were like family to my family, with Mom continuing to be your Dad's neighbor for 40+ years. Patsy - Posted by: Patsy Lavallee-Wood (Friend) on: Oct 12, 2017
