Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUNE ROSALIND MARSHALL June 3, 1925 - August 17, 2017 June Rosalind Marshall (nee Thomas) passed away peacefully at Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home on August 17, 2017. June was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Gordon Ross Marshall and her brother Richard Thomas. She will be lovingly remembered by her brother Bud Thomas of Vancouver; children, Sharon (Earl Clayton) and Eric (Sharon); grandchildren, Melissa (Marty Erletz), Jessica (Daniel Harrison), Catherine, Lauren and Victoria and great-grandchildren, Mya Harrison and Coen Erletz. Born in Winnipeg in 1925, June and her family moved to Calgary in 1928. After graduating from Western Canada High School in Calgary June returned to Winnipeg to study Home Economics at the University of Manitoba. She graduated in 1946 and moved to Toronto to work as a dietician. There she met and married Gordon Marshall in 1951. June and Gordon made their home in the St. Catharines and Burlington areas surrounded by family and friends. When Gordon was transferred to Sydney, Cape Breton, they spent six years from 1971 to 1977, reconnecting with relatives and enjoying life in the Maritimes. They then returned to the Toronto area where they were active with the North York Newcomers, playing bridge and attending many theater and orchestra performances. After Gordon's retirement in 1989, they had more time to enjoy travelling and golfing. In 2008 they moved to Winnipeg to be closer to family. After the passing of Gordon in 2013, June moved to the Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home. Over the years, June often performed many kind and thoughtful deeds for her friends, relatives and acquaintances. Her selfless generosity was greatly appreciated by many. The family would like to thank the staff at Tuxedo Villa for their kind and compassionate care of June over the past three and a half years. A memorial service will be held at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
