HENRY EDWARD THOROSKI Henry died suddenly on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at St. Boniface Hospital surrounded by his family. Henry was the eighth of thirteen children, born to John and Annie Thoroski in St. Boniface on August 11, 1933. He is survived by three sisters, Josie, Rose, and Pat (Doug Blais); his wife Adelaide; children, John (Janet), Doug (Libby), Ken (Yvette), Joanne (Shawn Hamilton), and Karen (Ron Keelan); 14 grandchildren (Geeg's most special joy), and many nieces and nephews. Henry retired from CN after 39 years of service, and managed Kinsmen Chesterfield House part time for 45 years. He was very community oriented, serving on the executive of Varennes Home and School, on the board of directors for Glenwood Community Centre, and was a life member of the All Saints Kinsmen Club. He coached hockey and baseball and was a faithful supporter of all his children's and grandchildren's athletic, school, and artistic endeavours. He was loved very much and will be missed. The family wishes to give special thanks to the paramedics and the ER staff at the St. Boniface Hospital led by Dr. Ron Steigerwald who tried extremely hard to save Henry. Their professionalism and compassion is greatly appreciated. A celebration of Henry's life will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Road United Church, 613 St. Mary's. Please, instead of flowers make a donation to the charity of your choice and give a hug to your friends and loved ones. www.voyagefuneralhomes.com
