ALBERT WEITZEL With sadness the family announces the passing of Albert Weitzel on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital at 99 years of age. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. at Henderson Highway. The last time I saw Al was at the funeral for his beloved Noreen. I had worked with Noreen at the head office and also worked for Al at 591 several times over the years. Al ran a tight ship and eventhough I was part time student working night shift on float, he tried to get me assigned to his store. This was very satisfying to me as he was very tough traskmaster and I had been noticed and passed his requirements. When I think of Al running 591, I also think of several of his key department managers he had. Wally Kostiuk, meat manager & Joe Bowman, produce manager and of course Edna McDougall as Head Cashier. On talking with Lou Hogan the other day, Lou expressed that Al had the good genes for a long life. I totally agree with him.
