JO-ANNE DAVIDSON It is with great sadness our family wishes to announce the passing of Jo-Anne (Joady) Davidson, on October 16, 2017 at the age of 79 years. Jo-Anne was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario and at an early age moved to Winnipeg with her family, where she remained for most of her life. During her working years, Jo-Anne worked for Investor's Syndicate, Air Canada and later for the Province of Manitoba until her retirement in 1992. Jo-Anne had a multitude of hobbies, her most recent being landscape painting. She also loved re-decorating and when her health no longer permitted, her painting and her computer filled the void giving her many hours of enjoyment. Jo-Anne is survived by her #1 son Bryan Davidson (Andrea), of Calgary, AB and her #1 daughter Allison Grosch (Brian), of South Elgin, Illinois; her loving sisters, Rosalee (Lee) van Stelten (Shirley), of Victoria, BC and Laurel (Laurie) Cormack, of Campbell River, BC, as well as numerous "favourite nieces and nephews", brother and sister-in-laws and their families and Daswell (Das), who held a special place in her heart. Not to be forgotten are her two loyal and affectionate pets, Buddy and Spook. Jo-Anne was predeceased by her Dad, V.O. (Bud) Auger in 1955, her Mom, Eunice Strutt in 1956, her first husband Dick Davidson in 1968, her brother Bryan Auger in 1972 and her second husband John Horvath (2013). In accordance with Jo-Anne's wishes, there will be no service. Immediate cremation has taken place. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their caring and dedication to a most difficult job. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Jo-Anne's memory to her favourite charity, The Winnipeg Humane Society or to a charity of one's choice.

  • I considered Joanne a friend from church but felt a bit frustrated that I could never visit her - because of all her health problems. I did pray for her often & am glad she's now free of all those health concerns, that she didn't suffer long. Praying God's comfort & peace to her family. II Cor.4, Psalm 23, 27 are favorites of mine; may they comfort you. - Posted by: Kathleen Harris (friend) on: Oct 18, 2017
