Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY ANDRUSHKO May 12, 1924 - October 20, 2017 Mrs. Mary Andrushko peacefully passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Holy Family Home. She was predeceased by her husband Peter on May 21, 1990 and is survived by family in Ukraine. Mary was born in Ukraine in 1924 and immigrated with Peter to Canada in 1948. In 1953, they built their home on Victoria Avenue in Transcona. Mary was a wonderful gardener and had a special talent for flowers. Mary and Peter attended St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Parish and were very active there, teaching others to read and write the Ukrainian language until their health failed. They sang in the choir for many years, and Mary was a long-time member of the UCWLC. Prayers were sung at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 23 at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Parish, 100 Yale Avenue E. Funeral Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by Fr. Mark Gnutel at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24 at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Parish, followed by interment at Holy Family Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Sincere condolences to Mary's family, she was truthfully a wonderful lady. I would pass her house and if she was out in the yard she always found time to talk to me. I will never forget the day she cut some flowers for me as I was going to visit my mother in the hospital. what a thoughtful thing for her to do. Rest in peace Mary God Bless you.
