ELVIRA ISAAC Peacefully on Sunday, October 29, 2017, with family by her side, Elvira Isaac, at the age of 89, was carried by angels into paradise. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Aron, her children, Marvin (Linda), Arlene (Weldon), Sandi (Rick), Joyce (Ryan) and Lawrence (Donna), plus her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elvira was predeceased by her parents, Cornelius and Maria Regehr, brothers David and William, a son at birth, daughter-in-law Diana Jones, nephew David Regehr, and great-grandson, Noah Aron. Elvira was born on September 27, 1928, in Arnaud, Manitoba. She was baptised in 1946. When she was 18, she caught the eye of a young Aron Isaac during a church choir practice. The rest was history. The two married, with the blessing of God, in 1949. They were a team. While she raised five children, he ran the family business. Money was often tight, but love was always abundant. The house smelled of her amazing home cooking. Children were clothed with her meticulous home stitching. She spoke two languages, could crochet, knit and sew anything you asked of her. And then there was her wit; sharp and spontaneous. She was a woman of extraordinary talents, though was loathe to admit it. Her devotion to God was unfailing, her devotion to family equally so. She was kind, generous and compassionate. She was vital in her grandchildren's lives and later, her great-grandchildren's lives. We, her family, will deeply miss her. We love her with all our hearts. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the nurses of the Donwood Manor Personal Care Home, who treated our beloved Elvira with such tenderness and respect. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at Eastview Community Church, 3500 De Vries Avenue, with viewing prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted to the Mennonite Central Committee or Donwood Manor.
