COLIN BERGEN February 14, 1984 - November 4, 2017 It is with sorrow to announce the death of Colin, son of Rita (Larry) and Jerry (stepmom Mariquita), and brother Stephen. He leaves behind grandparents Martin and Betty Bergen, aunts and uncles Nellie (Randy), Daniel (Karin), Beverly (Archie), Diana, and cousins Andrea (Jon), Shari (Russel), Andrew, Rachel, Katie, Robert, Michael, Alexa, Travis, Kyla and Ben. Colin loved the outdoors camping out on his country acreage with his ever-present dog Makwa and close friend Lisa. He loved working on his cars and creating projects, watching funny movies and YouTube. He was deeply sensitive, giving, loving with a matter of fact approach, sometimes cynical and determined. He struggled most of his life with anxiety and other mental health issues, and despite his many attempts with medications and programs he eventually succumbed to the disease of alcoholism, which lead to his death by alcohol overdose. Colin's faith in God and recognition and acceptance of his need for salvation, give those of us who remain a knowledge that we will meet again in Heaven by God's grace. In the meantime, we will miss you, Colin. A private family service and burial have been arranged.

  • My Deepest Sympathy and condolences to Stephen and the family. I've met Colin a handful of times growing up through high school and have had the honor of meeting Colin, although it was only a handful of times it was enough to know the kind and caring person he was. My heart goes out to the Bergen family. I wish you nothing but the best in dealing with this tragedy. From my family to yours, Lots of Love. Rest In Peace Colin Bergen!! - Bradley G Laing - - Posted by: Bradley G Laing (Acquaintance / old friend of brother Stephen) on: Nov 10, 2017

  • Colin was my friend. From high school on I hung out with him from time to time in the garage doing car projects and having a few good laughs together. He had a great sense of humor and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He had great mechanical skills and a work ethic like non other. I'm very saddened by his passing. I offer my condolences to his family and friends. - Posted by: William (Joel) Courchene (Friend ) on: Nov 10, 2017
