Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIDELTA PEREIRA TAVARES It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Idelta passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at the Seven Oaks Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents Manuel and Deolinda; her brothers Nicolau, Armando, Jose, Manuel; and sister Maria. She is survived by her husband Louis; her children Lizette, (Paul ), Bradley; and grandson Devon. She is also survived by her sisters Nalia, Otilia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Idelta was born February 21, 1944, in Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel, Acores. She immigrated to Winnipeg in 1964. She was employed at Eaton's for 23 years. She was a talented seamstress and would often come home and design her own pattern to recreate something she had seen at Eaton's. She loved to plant her small garden with perennials and enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. She cherished her return trips to the Acores to spend good times with family and friends. She retired early and dedicated her time to help raise her grandson Devon. He was the apple of her eye. Idelta was a devout Catholic and often helped in mass services and special events at Saint Anthony of Padua until her accident in 2001. Her strong faith and devotion carried her through the tough times. She will be remembered as a kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother. We will miss her dearly. Special thanks to her niece Fatima Teves for the daily phone conversations and taking the time out of her day to check in on my mom and providing her with a connection to the outside world when she was unable to do so. God please hold her in your arms And treasure her with care, Make up for all she suffered And all she had to bear. Please whisper in her ear In case she didn't hear, How much we truly love her And wish she was still here. Prayers will be said on Tuesday evening, November 21, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish with Rev Tiago officiating. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations in Idelta's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
