DANIEL PETER KOOP Born: March 14, 1914 Died: December 26, 2017 Dan was born in Halbstadt, Molotschna Colony, South Russia, to Peter and Anna (nee Martens) Koop. He had five brothers and one sister. In 1928 he immigrated to Canada with his mother and siblings. On October 13, 1935, he married Helen Falk and they were blessed with six daughters and two sons. His dear wife Helen died in 1958. Dan and his second wife, Annie Janzen, were married in April 30, 1960. They had two daughters and celebrated 54 years together. Annie died in 2014. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings; by his daughters, Irene Labun and Helen Dyck. He is survived by his children, Irwin (Lillian) Koop, Eleanor (Wilhelm) Kaethler, (Allan Labun), Werner (Agnes) Koop, (John Dyck), Erica (Jake) Enns, Viola (Edwin) Giesbrecht, Elvira (Henry) Paetkau, Sherryl Koop, Lorie (Ralph) Mayer; by 29 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren; many friends, nieces and nephews, relatives, and "adopted" family. Dan faced many hardships, but chose to live in the freedom of forgiveness and faith in Jesus. Together we mourn the loss of a wonderfully complex, loving, and joyful man.
