EGON HARRY KESTERKE Egon Harry Kesterke, 50, passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital on December 27, 2017, with his wife, sons and father by his side. Egon was born in Winnipeg and throughout his childhood lived in Charleswood. He later moved to Headingley after building his own home, where he raised his family. He is survived by his wife Elenore (nee Klingbeil), of 23 years; precious sons Brendan and Kaden; parents Hubert and Ingrid Kesterke; sister Judy Kesterke and brother-in-law Norbert Klingbeil, together with extended family. Egon was a man of many talents and hobbies. There was nothing that he couldn't build or fix and he loved to just tinker around and set everything up just right. He had a love of cars and a love of sports, especially golf. He was an avid golfer for many years, a member at Breezy Bend and coached Brendan during his competitive golf years. But most of all, he loved to watch his boys play all their sports and offer his advice. Golf is big in the Kesterke family and many memorable family vacations were taken to attend competitions across Canada and the United States. Egon was extremely proud of both Brendan and Kaden's accomplishments. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, friends of the Kesterke family have set up a gofundme page at Egon's request to "Keep my Kids in Sports" at https://gofundme.com/kesterkesportfund.

  • Egon was a real hands on kinda guy who always put the kids first, not just his kids but his kids friends too. Our son Reed fondly remembers Egon taking him and Brendan skiing several times over the years and dirt biking too. He will be sadly missed by all. - Posted by: Alan Mulholland (Neighbour) on: Jan 03, 2018
