KATHERINE MARY (REIMER) DUECK Kathy Dueck was born in Kitchener, Ontario to Henry and Aganetha Reimer on October 20, 1938. She passed away on January 6, 2018 at Riverview Health Centre after a long and courageous battle with chronic leukemia. Leaving to mourn her passing is her husband Abe; children, Jonathan (Kari Welsh), Rachelle (Phil Buller) and Judith (Evan Rodgers); six loving grandchildren: Jonah, Chelsea and Kristen Buller, Talia Dueck, and Kyla and Tyson Rodgers. She is also survived by three siblings: Jake, Ed, and John; many nieces and nephews; and members of the Dueck family. She was predeceased by her sister Elfrieda. Kathy grew up in a loving family with many friends and relatives, some of whom remained close friends for the rest of her life. She lived a vibrant life and was deeply loved by her husband and family. She had a strong faith in God, which never wavered despite the intense suffering she experienced. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at CancerCare and Riverview Health Centre for their excellent and loving care of Katherine during her long illness. The memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 13 at 11:00 a.m. at River East Church, 755 McLeod Avenue. Viewing will take place on Friday, January 12 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street. Interment will be held on Saturday, January 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery, 88 Hespeler Ave. Donations may be made to MCC Manitoba, 134 Plaza Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9 or CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2E 0V9.
