ROSE ORENIUK June 11, 1921 - January 12, 2018 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Rose Oreniuk at St. Joseph's Personal Care home on Friday, January 12, 2018. Rose was born in Meleb, MB in 1921 and came to Winnipeg at a young age. Rose was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary, and her husband Pete. She is survived by her daughter Joyce (Bernie); her son Leon, and her sister Tillie (and family). Rose is also survived by her grandchildren Cathy, Monica (Ray), Susan (Clayton) and Danielle (Ron); great-grandchildren Jessica (Tyler), Kevin (Marlie), Christopher, Amanda, Trevor, and Emily; and great-great-grandson Owen. Gramma took great joy in the newest addition to her family when Owen was born. She beamed with pride and joy every time she saw him. Gramma talked about Owen and showed off his pictures to everyone around her. She was so proud to celebrate five generations of life. Rose was a generous loving grandmother. She will be deeply missed more than words can say. Rose was not one to sit still, this was evident if you were lucky enough to sample her cooking. Gramma made the best perogies, borscht and homemade pickles among many other specialties. Gramma enjoyed listening to Ukrainian music and playing cards, but her favourite hobby was her BINGO nights, and she would often say when she got home, "couldn't win nothing". Thank you to all the caregivers at St. Joseph's Personal Care Home. A celebration of Rose's life will be held on Wednesday January 17 at 10:00 a.m., Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street. Interment will take place at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St, West St. Paul MB In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg MB, R3L 0K6, or play a good game of BINGO and think of Rose.
