My deepest condolences to the Pound & Wiebe families. Auntie Alice used to babysit me when I was a child. I am now almost 62 years old. Auntie Alice was a wonderful woman. A heart of gold. I remember her taking me to Disney movies, the Morris Manitoba Fair & Rodeo, out to A&W drive inn for hamburgers & root beer, spending time with my Mum & Dad & the Wiebe family at Winnipeg Beach. Memories that I will cherish forever. We will meet again Auntie Alice, tell your Dad he was the nicest man & the greatest fisherman. Monty - Posted by: Monty Russell (Friend) on: Mar 15, 2020

Although we have lived separate lives our children, granddaughters and great-granddaughters have always been our focus. You will miss Omie's loving, caring, guidance and counsel. I will continue to support and guide you as we have always done. God grant you the peace you deserve. - Posted by: Eric Pound (exspouse) on: Jan 23, 2018

My loving condolences to Alice's family.Though Alice and I were not directly related we did share family (her sister-in-law Helene Wiebe is my aunt) and through the years Alice and I became good friends. Whenever I went to Winnipeg, Alice always had something planned for us to do –whether it was a new display at the Mennonite archives or to view a film at the annual film festival or go hear a special speaker who was in town or to eat at a favourite restaurant of hers. One of the most memorable days spent with Alice was at the Human Rights Museum in Winnipeg . In February of last year Alice and I went to see “the Last Objectors” film which gave me the idea of our last year’s MHSBC special event where we honoured our Mennonite CO’s during WWII. Most importantly we shared a love for Elvis. Always said that I would go with her to Gimli to the annual Elvis festival - now I will have to go alone. RIP Alice - I will miss you. - Posted by: Cheryl Isaac (your cousins' cousin) on: Jan 23, 2018

Dear Pound and Wiebe Families, My deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Some of my favourite childhood memories are of our summers together at Winnipeg Beach. I feel blessed that my family was reunited with Alice and Irma at the cottage on Canada Day 2017. May your many cherished memories of happy times with Alice give you strength and bring you peace. During part of my tenure as President of the board of Canzona, Alice served as secretary. I always enjoyed working with Alice as she was a kind and pleasant person with a lovely smile. I recall that the last time I saw Alice was last summer at a presentation of the Mozart Requiem at Knox United Church. She will be missed. - Posted by: Nathan Mitchell (Board president of Canzona) on: Jan 21, 2018
