MARY WIEBE (nee WALL) November 16, 1927 - January 21, 2018 Peacefully, Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Concordia Place, Mary Wiebe passed away at the age of 90. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband John H. Wiebe, infant son David Ralph, parents, Johan and Maria Wall (Knelson), brothers, John, Peter, Abe and Eddie, and sister Tina. Mary will be lovingly missed and remembered by her children, Shirley (Bill) O'Neill, Bev (Greg) Collicutt, and Rick (Jenell) Wiebe; grandchildren, David (Ashley), Justin (Jenn), Drew and Peri; great-grandchild Abby; brother Jake; sisters, Helen, Ann, Evelyn and Esther; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Mary was a strong, kind and gentle woman whose unwavering faith in God gave her strength and guidance throughout her life. She married John Wiebe in 1951, a strong union of 61 years. Mary enjoyed the role of wife and mother but sought employment when an industrial accident necessitated a long rehabilitation period for John. Mary became a machine operator, cutting bus baggage doors for Motor Coach Industries for 20 years. In retirement, Mary was able to spend much more time doing the things she loved most; spending time with grandchildren, family and friends and delighting in planting and caring for flowers in her yard. We wish to thank the caring staff at Concordia Place, especially the 2nd floor. You have our heartfelt appreciation for the care of our mom. Viewing will take place Friday, January, 26, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at McIvor Avenue Mennonite Brethren Church, 200 McIvor Avenue. If family and friends so desire, donations may be made in Mary's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or Mennonite Central Committee.
