Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPARANIA (PEARL) RYBCZUK Peacefully on January 18, 2018, Pearl Rybczuk passed away at the age of 93. Pearl was born on November 11, 1924 in Selo Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Western Ukraine, surviving many difficult struggles in life including famine, a brutal Soviet regime and forced wartime labour. Pearl immigrated to Canada in 1948, arriving in Halifax and her new life began. Pearl was employed as a nurse's aide at Winnipeg General Hospital. Pearl was predeceased by her husband Nestor in August 2005; daughter Oksana in infancy in March 1960; parents, Dmytro and Anna Melnyk and five brothers and sisters in Ukraine. Pearl is survived by her sons, Walter (Diane), Nestor Jr. (Carol) and Ihor; grandchildren, Sarah, Nickolas and Kristopher along with great-grandchild Atlas. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of second floor St. Joseph's Residence for care and friendship given to our mother over the years. A special thank you and much gratitude to Dr. T. Babick for the kind and compassionate care our mother received. At Pearl's request, a private family service will take place.
