(ELLA) RUTH MALKOSKE
Born: Oct 02, 1919
Date of Passing: Feb 24, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memory(ELLA) RUTH MALKOSKE Surrounded by the chatter of family, Mom passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 in the early afternoon. Mom was born in Whitemouth on the family farm on October 2, 1919, the eighth of nine children born to John and Augusta Herntier. She married Eddie Malkoske in October, 1937. These "best friends" spent the next 69 years together. They raised four children Judy (Don) Cowell (both of whom predeceased Mom), Brenda (George) Pluchinski, Russell (Sherril) Malkoske and Lois (Rick Schultz). Family grew to include grandkids Kevin (Karen) Cowell, Melanie (Lynn) Fraser, Jeff (Melinda) Pluchinski, Jody (Roy) McMullen, Joel (Kathy) Malkoske, Kyle Malkoske, Travis (Tanis) Malkoske, Cory (Alison Remple) Malkoske, Lisa (Roger) Hristovski and Karla (Bastian) Firmbach. Great-grandkids are Cole and Taylor Pluchinski, Jon McMullen, Emma and Maggie Malkoske, Eric and Lucas Malkoske and Odin and Nyle Firmbach. While she is survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family, she is the last of her generation having been predeceased by all her siblings, in-laws and most friends. That was a great sadness to Mom. She especially missed daughter Judy and her hubby Don. There was not a day that went by that Mom did not mention missing Dad. Mom loved looking after others, especially Dad. That need to care for him spilled over onto all of us. We will dearly miss her caring and concern. Mom had never lived more than two miles from the farm where she was born. Suggesting Whitemouth was not important to her would be a serious mistake. Those in our home town will miss her as much as we do. We would like to thank the staff at the Whitemouth Personal Care Home for the care and compassion they showed our mother. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Whitemouth. No flowers please, but donations to the Redeemer Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Any act of kindness to someone or someplace you love would also make Mom very happy. I was so saddened to hear of Ruth's passing. She was an exceptional lady. I have known Ruth since I was 4 years old when my parents moved to Whitemouth and Ruth and Eddie's daughter Brenda and I became close friends. After moving to Vancouver I visited Ruth and Eddie every summer when I came to Beausejour to visit my parents. I enjoyed our visits so much! She had such a great sense of humor and and I really enjoyed our conversations. My memories of Ruth are many - in particular the fact that she made the best candied popcorn balls at Halloween. And she was instrumental in arranging for "us Hladys", which included Brenda, to watch Horse Opera on the Hills TV. The Hills were the only family to have a TV in Whitemouth at the time. I will surely miss visiting with Ruth. But take solace in that she is now with Eddie and Judy and Don and her many friends and family who passed before her. - Posted by: Edna Zurbuchen (nee Hlady) (Friend) on: Mar 05, 2018

Ah my dear friend. You are now reunited with Eddie and Judy. I will miss you so very much and so will Shaka. I am so glad that you and I got to spend time together over lunch with "your dog" at our feet. We would walk in the door and I would say to him "Where's Ruth" and he would almost drag me down the hall to your room. Rest easy now my dear, until we meet again. Love you. - Posted by: Teri Walker (Friend and care taker of Her dog!) on: Feb 27, 2018
