Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGUERITE FRANCIS MARTENS 1930 2018 Peacefully on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, our mother passed away to be with her Lord and Saviour, at age 87. Marguerite will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Kurt (Marie), Reid (Deb), Jeff (Jackie) and Sandy (Jerry); as well as her grandchildren, Raymond, Albert, Marlene, Calvin, Jamie (Tyler), Stacey, Caitlin, Jasmine (Roger) and Robert (Chyanne). She is survived by her sisters Helen and Vera, and her brother Eldon (Aggie). Mom was born in Mountainside, MB on July 20, 1930 and she married her love, Dave on October 24, 1959. Dad has since passed in 2011. They raised their four children on a poultry farm near Oak Bluff, MB. They retired to Kelowna, BC in 1990. Mom always read her daily devotions with Dad and us, each and every day. She was always working in the garden, in the house and also doing barn chores. This involved gathering many eggs each and every day. Mom loved to bake and most days we came home from school to enjoy some freshly baked goodies. Then it was off to do chores. She also loved to play baseball. When they moved to Kelowna, she joined a baseball team and loved it. Mom's strong faith in Christ was very obvious in her daily life. She always put other people first. Mom and Dad did a lot of travelling in their years together, going to Alaska, Germany, Australia and many other places. Our family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Donwood Manor where Mom spent the last several years of her life. They treated her with love and respect. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2:30 p.m., at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Focus on the Family at www.focusonthefamily.ca.

I am so sorry to hear that Auntie Marg has passed away. To her children and grandchildren, I hope the memories of her love and her laugh, that I remember so well, will grow stronger as the days and the years pass, and that each memory of her will bring a smile to your lips. I feel very privileged to have called her "Auntie" and to have sat at her table, felt her love and tasted of her kitchen talents so often. - Posted by: James Stobbe (nephew) on: Mar 01, 2018
