OLGA YAREMA (nee YURKOWSKI) July 27, 1918 - March 3, 2018 Olga Yarema (nee Yurkowski) passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the Holy Family Nursing Home, Winnipeg, MB. Olga was born on July 27, 1918 in Transcona. As a young child she moved to Sarto, MB and lived there most of her life. Along with her husband Bill (William), Olga farmed for several years and later worked in Steinbach at the sewing factory and at Friendly Family Farms. In her retirement years Olga liked to keep active by volunteering at the Sarto Community Hall and at the Steinbach Legion, and by participating in various senior activities within the area. She liked to travel having been to British Columbia, Hawaii and Ukraine, and she enjoyed being in the company of friends and relatives. Olga was predeceased by her husband William in 1982. Left to cherish her memory are sisters Jean and Martha, and brothers Peter and Eugene. The family would like to thank the staff at Holy Family Home 4A for their care and compassion. Prayer services will be held on Friday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m. with viewing beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 10 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Sarto, MB, with interment at the parish cemetery.
